AGH & the AIChE Center for Hydrogen Safety in Collaboration

Addressing Safety Issues Key to the Success of GeoH₂

AGH is excited to announce that it has formed a Strategic Partnership with the Center for Hydrogen Safety (CHS), an affiliate of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), specifically to collaborate on issues of safety, codes, and standards related to geologic hydrogen.

The Partnership aims to leverage the respective strengths, resources, and expertise of both CHS and AGH in collaboration to help advance the research, development, demonstration, & deployment of GeoH2 technologies and systems, with a specific focus on promoting appropriate safety, codes, & standards.

As an example of collaboration, AGH has been invited to serve on the recently-formed CHS Working Group on GeoH2 which was established to advance the safe development, production, and utilization of naturally occurring and engineered geologic hydrogen by convening subject matter experts, facilitating knowledge exchange, and producing resources that support the hydrogen safety community.

The Working Group is chaired by Dr. Chris LaFleur from CHS; and we’re excited to announce that Dr. LaFleur who has recently joined our AGH Advisory Board!
