AGH & THIRDWAY CONVENE LEADING NATIONAL STAKEHOLDERS

Addressing Regulatory & Permitting Issue Key to the GeoH₂ Community

AGH and Third Way co-hosted an important and timely closed-door GeoH2 Regulatory & Permitting Workshop in July 2026 in Washington, D.C., bringing together national leaders from the GeoH2 Community. The goal was to move beyond acknowledgement of the current regulatory and permitting barriers to the demonstration and deployment of GeoH2 across the U.S. and produce actionable solutions.

This event, which was organized in consultation with leading hydrogen experts, successfully convened a select group of thought-leaders from Federal and State agencies as well as industry and NGO’s, all committed to addressing this important topic critical to facilitating GeoH2 initiatives.

Chatham House Rules were implemented to facilitate open and honest discussions; and public-facing summary of key outcomes is being prepared without attributions to help inform the broader GeoH2 Community.

Special shout-out to the ThirdWay Host Dr. Rudra V. Kapila and her organizing Team; and to the workshop’s AGH co-Host Dr. Eric L. Miller, who along with other AGH members helped pull it all together!
