Recently, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) selected the Association of Geological Hydrogen (AGH) as one of several non-profit organizations to receive significant funding in support of its emerging Energy Careers for All program.
As part of this initiative, AGH was selected for negotiation of the $300,000 award to develop and implement an educational framework aimed at building a skilled workforce for the growing field of geological hydrogen. This framework includes collaboration between universities, industry, and national laboratories, and is designed to:
Foster industry-university-lab partnerships to support internships, career mentorship, and coaching.
Develop a textbook and certificate program covering foundational knowledge in geological hydrogen.
Encourage early engagement by offering educational pathways starting at the high school level, leading to specialized training in college or trade programs
The project aims to equip learners—whether geologists, engineers, or other professionals—with the expertise needed to apply their skills effectively in the field of geological hydrogen.
